Smile Mustang 80 vs. Flap 30

Hi everyone,

I am looking around for some carbon fins from C4. I will use them mainly for line diving (no spearfishing or so), since I have another pair of plastic fins. I do like the Omer footpockets quite a bit, so I was wondering if anyone has an opinion/experience with the Mustang footpockets and/or the Mustang 80's. The other fin I am looking at are the flap 30's. I am sure they are both excellent fins.

Does anyone know when the "new" C4's will be available in the U.S. (T 700 and VGR - C4 Carbon )? Too bad one can't try them before one buys them (unless one knows someone of course)!

I am about 5'6 and 140 lbs.

Thanks!

Re: Mustang 80 vs. Flap 30

I've worn an 80 on one foot and a 30 on the other and it's hard to feel any difference under power. It takes a wide kick to get the most out of the 80s and my legs are probably 4 inches longer than yours. When it comes to foot pockets, my right foot prefers the Mustang and my left the OMER. The flap is slightly better and if you decide on Mustangs, plan on wearing sox
IMHO

Re: Mustang 80 vs. Flap 30

Just for your knowledge the mustang 80's are stiffness 25 but are longer for apnea which
is why you feel the difference is small but the stroke cycle must be adjusted.I have a pair
of mustang 80's and LOVE them. Mustangs are great because you can adjust the footpockets as they are laced and left and right sided just like shoes.you can find them in the US from many sources.Where do you live? let me know I'll try to help Ciao for now
