Beuchat Mundial Carbone Pro Vs C4 Falcon 30

Hi guys!!!

I need your wisdom on carbon fins. I already have the Beuchat Mundial carbone Pro fins and thinking of getting a C4 Falcon 30. Would love to get the 80's but i still have no idea in performance base on experience. Will this be a big improvement in performance? I just dive shallow 5-10 meters for now since i dont have a dive buddy and still a newbie. I'm a recreational freediver and would love to photograph the fish in pursuit mode and stalk them once in a while coz spearfishing is illegal here in Abu Dhabi UAE. I'm 175 cm @ 88 kg and wears a 3.5mm suit (rashguard tops during summer).

Thank you in advance for your wisdoms and shared experinced.

Elvis

For diving up to 5-10 meters don´t need any fins ))

Hi Elvis!

We suggest to use Falcon 25-30-40 for recreational freediving in general.
This is a good blade for many use.

All our 80's are made just for apnea. To increase and reach the best performance in dinamic or CW.

See what you say, Falcon 30 seems to be the right choise for you.

ciao ciao

OK Elvis, I will be serious for one time
As Nata said before... 80īs are for pure freediving...it means CWT and DYN. I think for your shallow watter diving would be the best C4 Flap 25īs because of two reasons:

1) for shalow watter diving (up to -20m) may softer be better, cos you have positive buoyancy and donīt need to have stiff fins as in case of diving up to -50m where you are very negative and need strong fins to overcome negative buoyancy...

2) softer blades are better for beginners... donīt tire your muscless muscles so quickly and the resalt would be less spasms...

I am 86 kg with muscular body and use C4 Flap 25īs for recreational freediving up to -40m and they are really great fins... Much better than Beuchat Carbone...

Re: Beuchat Mundial Carbone Pro Vs C4 Falcon 30

Thanks Nata and Sharks, I have that next on my list. C4 25 or 30 but with an omer foot pocket thou. This sport really burns a hole in my wallet

Shark, how would you rate the stiffness of Beuchat Carbon, is it soft ,medium or hard? This is my first fins so i dont have basis for stiffness, but i feel comfortable in them.

Re: Beuchat Mundial Carbone Pro Vs C4 Falcon 30

Hi Elvis,
The stiffness of 25´s is similar to the Beuchat Carbone. I think 30´s are a little harder. But it is hard to say, cos the whole construction of the fin is different... C4 are only 19cm wide, Beuchat are more wider, don´t have Variable Geometry Rails, don´t have a flap, don´t have so big angle betwen the blade and the footpocket and are shorter than C4.

But 25´s are stiff like a average plastics fins ..for example Gara 3000.

I would recommande C4 Flap 25´for you.

And there is no reason why spend so much money from the beginning.... my friends had for example only 2 elios suits (3 and 5 mm) + 1 pair of Gara 3000 + Micromask + Cressi Belt + some shorchel.... together 600 Eur... and they are good freedivers... One of my them - a recreational freediver dive -50m with old plastic Omer fins.
So it is more about training than about equipment...

Good luck
Shark

Re: Beuchat Mundial Carbone Pro Vs C4 Falcon 30

Thanks for the advice shark!!! Yep training and the course is the key. As of the moment, i dont have much time away from work and all the aida course and deeper water is like 4 hours drive away and i only have 5 hours to spend. Thats why i'm starting to gather equipment as early as now so when i get the chance to really spend time training, all i have to do is pick em up from my bag...hehehehe...i'm heading the different direction i know hehehe...With regards to spending, i'm not a rich guy but i always believe in making a good investment as long as i can afford it, if people believes a particular equipment is good, then i guess its worth the spending, i'm always getting carried away by curiosity. I always need to try em to clear my head of the "what if" question. Terrible in my part hehehehe...

Thanks again for the straight forward advice... really appreciate it.

Re: Beuchat Mundial Carbone Pro Vs C4 Falcon 30

quick note.. i've have the beuchat carbone pro (new version with mundial rails) and i've tried both c4 flap 25 and 30.. beuchat is a bit stiffer than the 25's.. 25's suited much better for surface swimming as the beuchat and 30 were quite stiff.. but i guess this will vary from person to person...
