Yesterday was probably the last warm day we will see on the Panhandle. It was sunny with just a hint of a breeze and best of all there was NOBODY at the spring when I rolled in around 7:30am. I think there was one diver in the water down by the cavern, because I could see bubbles, but there were no OW SCUBA classes kicking silt. I recently recieved a reply from you about spearfishing in Illinois. You referenced Parts 110 and 810 of the Administrative Rules. I don't have access to these and I can not find them online. So I will have to use my own common sence in replying to what I have in this letter.

Illinois - Land of Hostages....

I'm going to start writing an article to be published by whomever will print it. I have a few places in mind to send it to start with. This is a rough draft and a place to gather thoughts for this article.

It seems Illinois is intent on protecting people from themselves. There is less and less freedom in the US in general, but Illinois seems to want to lead this charge.

I decided to see what can be done to change the view of diving and spearfishing in Illinois....

UKZN Spearo Course

Once again the UKZN under water club in conjunction with The Dive Factory are hosting a spearo course. This is primarily aimed at the novice but will appeal to all. There is also the option of attending a breathhold training course on the saturday. See attached poster for details.
