CA dive prep 10 days left
Well my daughters contact didn't pan out for my CA trip next month but at least I have got a local who is also interested in spearfishing. My mate got my suit in the mail man he likes to wait till the last minute on all things, drives me nuts sometimes as it doesn't leave much leeway for change of plans when things pop up. Perhaps he just knows I'll get it taken care of.
Getting nervous now about finding a dive partner. Thought 6 weeks...

Yesterday my buddy and I kayaked out to a shipwreck ~1 mile off of shore. The wreck is an old whaling ship that was sunk in 100ft of water for the use of a submarine that takes tourists underwater. The Wreck has been there for close to 3 years and has attracted some large and very tasty fish. i.e. Uku aka Green Jobfish, Mu aka bigeye emperor, Ulua aka GT and many other reef and palagic speciece.

The day could not have been better (well maybe less one experience), water vis was over...

Dived today at another new for me site, just after low tide. Current was running fairly hard and water was a bit sloppy but viz was Ok. and got better the further I swam, think the tide was bringing in clear water. Anyway heard a few bass and saw a couple of glimmers of silver on the edge of the viz (3m at its best) Was ready to quit when I spotted one in some Japweed it was an absoloute hog, at least 7lb but I drifted half past it and at first mistook it for a wrasse! Anyway short of it is I fluffed...

Any way I have tried to find a dive buddy through this site. Posted a thread and had a couple people try to put me in touch with other people. I actually...
