Well, it's family vacation time and what do you know, FIT Level III falls right in the middle of it. So we head to my parents house in the Sarasota Area first. The day after we arrive I have plans made to dive out of Clearwater FL. There are 5 of us headed out and I thought I felt fairly good. We were headed out 15 miles to a site when we saw a smaller sailfish cruising on the surface. That was a first for me and the rest of the guys thought it very unusual.

At the first site...

First entry 29th July

Posted July 29th, 2008 at 13:36 by Captain J
My first entry in the blog. Not sure what to put down but here's what's been going on.

Recently got some new kit:

Got the new Elios camo suit, its a mimitec pattern that works really well along the coast here in Brighton. Piece of piss to put on and take off, warm and lightweight. Its a 5mm.

Also got an Elios Black Shadow in 6.5mm for scuba and cold weather. That's a bitch to get off.

Got a Bass and Mullet over the weekend off the Marina much...

Six in the morning we left the house, the weather as we drove to the docks looked like a great day for diving. We arrived, got a spot on the boat, and set sail to a bridge-span in the gulf. As we slowly made our way to the bridge-span I grew more and more anxious to take my first dive into open water. We finally arrived at the dive spot and got the line tied off to the tip of the once perfectly fine bridge thats now blown to bits and scattered all across the gulf. Full Stomach = Short Breath-Hold Tiimes

Posted July 8th, 2008 at 10:39 by Parapsycho
I just tried doing some statics. but I had just eaten alot.

I found that my diaphragm could not expand as much, and this put alot of pressure on my lungs and throat. It also cut my static times by about 25% or more.

I'll have to remember to watch when I eat in relation to apnea practice.

Well, i did my course last year (deep tank diver) with Emma Farrell and have been training ever since. I got stuck on 3mins 20sec for my statics for ages and couldn't get past 75mtrs for my dynamics for months.

Then i finally got myself on here (deeperblue forums) and started learning from people who know.

Tonight i set a new PB in dynamic of 100mtrs and my statics times are consistently at 4mins 40sec now.

I cant find any place that i would rather be than...
