Weekend escapades woe and luck

Posted September 26th, 2007 at 09:27 by deep thinker
So the weekend came and went in a whirl, did 2 dives in the 4 days there due to tides and weather not really playing nice. So the first dive was on Friday evening with the sun setting and the tide still flushing over the rocks. I took two shots and missed both, ah well better luck next time as Ill be more used to the gun then, dont normally hunt with the 75... The better luck never came. Monday morning I went for my second and last dive of the weekend just before we headed back home, missed a sure kill at point blank range as well as a variation of other shots that should have been easy with my other gun. All fish being prize fish for the species, ranging between about 1 to 2kg each. One place I hid behind a rock and took a shot at a fish coming up the other side, missed and saw his bigger uncle present a very nice broadside view as I was retreiving my spear. Dives was fun though with lots of fish spotted and doing aspettos of 1min plus, allthough not deep, all diving was done in the shallows down to about 2m. Next time Ill take the 110 Apex and leave the tiny gun for the holes...
As a consilation prize I did catch a nice sized bellman in the river on Saturday night which we had for lunch on Sunday.
Came back to work rested but in quite the holiday mood so roll on December
