Boredom is setting in big time, the demise of yet another season is rearing its ugly head again, maybe because the summer was so crap anyway I might not actually know the difference until well after Christmas. It's funny how the more bored you get the less your mind wants to explore new things, I've found myself a couple of times this week slouched in the chair, laptop on knee looking at the same few sites in a circular fashion in a sub concious manner, how sad can I get?
The bright side is of course that the new training regime is getting more attention than it might, progress has been made I feel, I'm certainly enjoying it anyway which is more than I was last week.
Deeper blue has been eventful this last week on the freediving side, what with the Martin Stepanek record going tits up and the British comp being cancelled. It was alarming to see how people who are normally quite rational can go OTT sometimes and say things they wouldn't normally. Perhaps if people didn't offer opinions on matters that don't concern them when things start getting a little personal the situation might not have got so far out of hand and been somewhat less upsetting for some. Such is life!

Now I'm 34 live in a different country in a small city with not many friends. This summer my brother in-law took me hunting for octapus with these short cheap arse prong things witha bit of elastic. I came in with a heathly catch of fish and turban shells (didn't even look for the octapus once I saw the fish) So I got my-self a half decent pole spear and have been. hunting under water almost every free minute I had. My japanese in-laws don't look at me like I'm the big scary westerner any more, rather they look at me with puzzlement and where's my sushi. Now I want to get my first gun and a wetsuit so I can go in the cooler months (from now) but my wife if keeping the credit cards hidden. So like you I'm looking at the same sites over and over daily. looking at the stuff I want to buy hoping it will materialize in front of me. I even lied to my wife the other day (used this one wife my parents when I was a kid) said to her that this site is having a huge sale and the gear I want is less than half price. My wife is a lot smarter than my parents, did'nt get the gear. Hope you find something to tide you over for the winter. |
