I'm sitting here in the States on a dream holiday with my wonderful family. They're all talking skiing and snowboarding and snow reports for the area while I'm sitting on the computer checking out the diving and vis report from back home...

Wind...sleet....snow. It's cold. The desire to dive right now just is not there.

With recent events, it's no wonder Illinois DNR is screwed up. The rest of the world gets to see how screwed up the state of Illinois is. Chicago corruption strikes again.

I'm hoping to get to Florida in April/May of 2009 and hopefully find some fish to spear on the trip. But for now I am watching frozen water that I can't do anything with just fall from the sky and taunt me. *sigh*...

Yesterday was probably the last warm day we will see on the Panhandle. It was sunny with just a hint of a breeze and best of all there was NOBODY at the spring when I rolled in around 7:30am. I think there was one diver in the water down by the cavern, because I could see bubbles, but there were no OW SCUBA classes kicking silt. I got my choice of parking space and Nik pulled in right after I got there. I of course reveled in the fact that I won the "race" to the spring yet again but we...
