Yesterday was a long drive from Fressno to Depth Perceptions where I met chuck picked up rest of gear and then traveled on to Cambria.
Saturday went out to just get in the water and see how my 5 mil suit would handle the 48ish degree water. Kale my guide for tomorrow’s hunt in kelp beds (my first time in kelp), wanted me to get a hooded vest but my suit fits to tight to allow it so just got a shoulder hood. Dove in a calm bay just to get back in the water. After 3 or 4 minutes didn’t even notice temp. Herds of sea otters, visibility went from 8 to 4 with sand getting kicked up in 10 foot depth.
