So - after launching these blogs I haven't taken much time to actually post to them!
One of the main reasons would be that October and November are crazy season for DB. This is the time of the year that we spend a lot of time in the real world doing the big Dive Shows - mainly Dive 2007 in Birmingham (UK) and DEMA 2007 in Orlando Florida.
Both cater for very different markets and very different parts of the business. Dive 2007 is very much a consumer show and as it's mainly UK based is where we show off our FreeDiving courses we run across the UK, Greece and Dahab. It's a very sales oriented show and is very tiring but fulfilling.
DEMA on the other hand is a trade only show. We are work as one of the media partners to cover the show and provide editorial coverage of any new and exciting events going on. Unlike Dive, which is only 2 days, DEMA is 5 days of work with numerous seminars, presentations, dinners, lunches, meetings and walking the hall. Luckily I have a number of excellent writers who help out at the show (Nico, Francesca, Topher, John and Jim to name a few) year after year.
Both events are a great way to meet DB members and crew as well as spread the message about this great, great community.
Who knows - maybe i'll meet you one day at a show...
