nothin major to report. the party that i was suposed to be at all nightended up getting raided by the police because it got to crazy. some dude even got beat down and tasered, it was it was pretty sweet untill i remembered that my party had just gotten tanked. so i ended up wandering around with my cousin evan and a couple friends ended up wanderin around looking for parties to crash wich was pretty tough because every time a party started getting big enough to get good the cops would show up and blast the place with these huge floodlights and every body would leave. at about 11 we foud some people that we knew and hung out at there place untill about 1 before we decided to call it a night.
how did the rest of you guys do over the fourth?

i went out with my dad and a bunch of his bank associates to watch the fireworks in Long beach. On his boat that is
Turns out the show was very short, only 15 min... But we did see an older 40 ft powerboat hit the jetty and sink! the coast guards were on that fast... after the show we seen a flare in the sky and was all wtf?! someone must have pulled a prank haha, but little did we know a boat was sinking! we saw it on the way back to the docks.. half sunken... poor guy wasnt even drunk |

4th was good Matesz....thanks for asking. pretty mellow overall, spent the day in Laguna bodyboarding the leftover swell and then partied a little with some friends....nothing too major. Main objective lately is how Joel and I are gonna top our last trip to the secret White Sea Bass spot. That was some real exciting shit!!! Beam gets mad props from me for keeping his cool while shit was going down, it was truly a memory maker. Even better, it was short & sweet....this weekend it's on with the swell gone and the viz clearing up good in the northern parts of the local counties.......to be continued

nothing new here, just the daily grind. As Kanak said, just looking for a topper for our last trip out. I know the swell is dropping and pretty much gone now. I read in the paper today that the vis around Cat island is 30-50 feet!! Malibu had no report and Laguna was POOR at 4-6ft. I know Kanak and I are planning dives for this weekend, not sure the spot yet, maybe one up north then one down south??
good luck everyone, Joel |

Anyone been out lately? I may try and do a hour or 2 shore dive to try out a new apnea suit I just got. I heard it has been getting colder so this would be the perfect time.

Laguna viz is so-so with green tide making it a little murky. By all means it is not bad though. I f you know what you are looking for, then you should be good to go. I suggest heading into deeper water and things will clear up. Although water temp did drop to 64, they are currently rising once again at around 70 as of today. For general surf and visibility reports call (949) 494-6573. It is not the most accurate but at leat it allows a guideline of conditions. I tend to use the theory that if viz is reporting at 15 feet, then it is probably more like 10-12 feet. This way I don't anticipate conditions being better than they actually are. BUT....if you hear 20 feet viz, then start running for the shore!!! Good luck...

Thanks for the number Kanaks, thats pretty sweet. I don't work from an office, so don't have the luxury of checking conditions online.
I usually keep gear in my truck, and cruise by the beach when I get the chance- this should help eliminate some of the guesswork though. Last edited by Rollout; July 22nd, 2007 at 19:11. |
