most of the Ling and rockfish I see are 10m+. the bigger cod and rockfish seem to start at 20m. I have found greenling and flonder in water less then 10m. lots of things to see, but not much to hunt in the 0-10m range.

Tucunare,
I saw a good size ling cod at 7 m on the west coast in April. Though, as Colin pointed out most likely deeper as a general rule. I think particularly the yellow eye rockfish (red snapper) like to be quite deep even more so that the other rockfish species. Go out and try your luck at whatever depths you are going to dive, as you never know what you will see. Lee |
