Re: Cornwall 2008.

Hey Kaapie!
Where are you going to be living? If its Reading again then Sussex and Dorset coasts are full of bass etc. in the season...no Johnnys either....except for one evil Mako one stalking Podge and Glowworm around Portland....(extra meat)
Cornwall does have some good consistent surf and some excellent spearfishing though and I wish I could get an office down there!

Hey dude....
Ya probably will be Reading again....enjoyed that part. only thing was it was far from the sea, but in England nothing is really 'far' from anything (if that just made sense)
Definately going to bring my boards with too! look forward to surfing there! Everyone here says it cant be done....yeah right! Even if i gotta drive to Scotland for some decent waves im gna get them!

Not another S/A boy it’s bad enough with SurfnSpear but get 2 of you together and we won’t understand a word of what you’re saying.
When you get here let us know and we’ll arrange a trip out as long as Brett isn’t scared.
And he’s right about the swell at Cornwall, me and a mate used to drive to Sennan Cove just for the day and its 204 miles from my front door to the car park in the cove but I’ll tell you what mate it’s well worth it.
Looking forward to meeting you
Paul

Re: Cornwall 2008.

You won't have to drive too far. I get waves on sucking reefs at Kimmeridge Bay in Dorset, along the M4 in south Wales, and Croyde in Devon, a break when it's on is getting towards as heavy as SA beachbreaks. And thats before I count regularly being at my in-laws who live on the beach in Newquay. Anyone back home who says there are no waves or fish over here is talking out of their rear pipe
It's not as raw as Africa sure, but my oh my I do enjoy a pimms or a G&T on the lawn in summer without even a metre of razor wire in sight!
P.S. You have also missed the wait for
WEIGHTS REEF in Bournemouth which is an hour and a bit from Reading. Should improve the consistency and quality somewhat.

cheers

Re: Cornwall 2008.

Got up early today with the intention of hitting a spot down on the lizard.Got down there to discover there was way more swell than i'd thought there'd be.
Quick drive up the coast though and found this place totally empty, which is as rare as rocking horse poo.Just glad i threw my board in the car.
Might try falmouth area later on the dropping tide.....checked it earlier and viz looked okay.
