We launched the "Supporter" program a while ago but there wasn't much take up. Since then we have listened to you as members and revamped the program to offer more for less!

Supporting members contribute a small amount to the site to help cover our costs and time and exchange are granted a few benefits in return.

Lucia, go to the main forum page, then go to the very bottom and just above the who's online box theres a blue bar with two buttons on it "Mark forums read" and "Forum Leaders" click that and there you are

Well its going a bit better this time, there has been some interest at least, I hope it keeps up as Deeper Blue must cost a @#&*%ng fortune to keep online; so I know we always thank Stephan but for once I think the supporters need to be thanked for their part in keeping this resource online

I anted up the $9.95 a couple of days ago just to support the effort, but for what its worth, I haven't seen the changes. Or at least the color of my name hasn't changed in "Who's online" and I still see ads. How long does it take?

Please be assured that I am willing to pay to support the effort regardless, and the only benefit that might be of use to me is the greater limit on uploads. I tend to show a lot of photos with explanations of gear, and recently I had to delete some in order to post new ones.

Bill you have a pm but for now the instructions on how to change the colour of your name is in the supporters forum on the main forum page (only visible to supporters)

Thanks. In my reply to the PM I said that I didn't want to change colors anyway, but now that I think of it, I suppose it has value simply because it might help keep the ball rolling and encourage others to express support with that nominal donation.

Bill,

The reason you have not seen any benefits yet is because you elected to pay by eCheque on PayPal. As such it still hasn't cleared but is expected to clear today. Once it has cleared PayPal will automatically tell our servers about it and you will become a Supporter.

Apologies if this wasn't clear during the payment process but PayPal is out of our control

However many thanks on helping to keep DB operating!!

I signed up a few months ago, I had to have my supporters status removed because it stopped me posting in the moderators forum

Ah well at least I made the effort

Go for it! I have gained a wealth on info from the forums and really enjoy the 'window' on the world it provides!
Besides...it's more expensive buying myself lunch from Marks & Spencer!

Dear Mr Smurf Man. i tried to sign up for the suporters and got stuck with pay pal. im in a country called North Cyprus and we are niether Recognized nor aknowledged by the outside world(Politics) i would love to join and get the benifits and suport a great site.alas i cannot unless i can do it through snail mail or western union money order. any advice would be greatly apreciated on how i can join (maybe do 2 years in advance?).
