Re. game, not much he could do about if he saw it and thought it was a bass (vis. has been poor lately). Not sure how the law would operate in this case, as there was clearly no intent (action first, justice maybe seems to be the way they often operate these days).

Re; the Salmon

Once it was shot it would be a crime in my eye's to waste such a creature. Put in your bag or at the bottom of your catch and don't mention it, just don't make a habit of it.
Accidents happen!

Re: South Devon report 2007

Hi Mr. X, how is the kayak diving going?? I am looking to set up a kayak for the start of next season and may need to question you on your set up! Fed up with shore diving and i have loads of GPS for offshore reef which i intend to dive. I use to blow bubbles on them years before i saw the light and started to freedive/spearfish.

GeeBee

If you're still online, 5 or 6pm at Budleigh Lime kiln carpark by the ticket machine, let me know which.

Tribs.

Re: South Devon report 2007

Burrp! Sorry just finished eating my bass from last night.

Am toying with going to Budleigh tomorrow after work. Feeling quite lazy though so won't decide until the am. I might feel more perky tomorrow and throw my gear in the car before going to work. Will be at the river end car park about 5pm if I'm there chaps. Sorry I can't be more promising, last minute dot com was made for people like me!

Beer Festival this weekend at Newton Abbot Racecourse, not as good as the festival at Tuckers Maltings but worth a look if you're around. Its a CAMRA festival so good beer guaranteed.

Was thinking of going to Thurlstone early Sat morning so I can get back to watch the rugby in the pm. Are there any fish left after the comp???

Re: South Devon report 2007

For anyone diving Torbay tomorrow the viz is actualy quite good. 3 to 5 meters but with a slight cloud (whats new) to it.

I dived meadfoot again today on the hope of bagging a bass but only saw mullet and small pollack so messed around with my camera instead.

Re: South Devon report 2007

Decided I wanted a short drive today so went to Sidmouth. Viz was variable from 1-5m. Had quite a few glimpses of very fast but quite big bass - far too fast for me to shoot. Bagged a reasonable mullet but spent most of my time trying out a new camera housing I have just bought on ebay.

Re: South Devon report 2007

Went out with Tribs today at Budleigh. Viz was great compared to Torbay in recent weeks but the salt/fresh water mix made things interesting.

Fantastic weather, flat calm, a few mullet around and Tribs got one for dinner.

Thanks Tribs for letting me tag along!

Pictures and video below...love the camouflage...maybe the weights need some paint

I cut the yellow plastic off my weights last year. It takes a while but makes them look a bit more "spearo".
I can't honestly say that the fish seem to have noticed the difference though! In fact I've been wondering whether being all in black now makes me look more like a threatening seal and less like a comic creature worth coming to investigate
