Another question, about epoxy

My building project is soon coming to an end and I have red about that the gun can be brushed with water to make the fibers rise before putting on the coating. After the water I should use sandpaper as I understood it.

My question is: Does this use of water for fiber rising make the use of sandpaper after the first layer of epoxy unnecessary? I´m thinking of let someone spray the coating for me, and that would mean that I have no chance to fix the surface between the layers. Wet it at home, use sandpaper after it´s dry and then leave it to the spray painter that is.

Are you going to hang it on the wall, or use it?

In my experience building a fiberglass/epoxy/plywood kayak, foam brushes do just fine. There's a time period where the next coat will chemically bond to the prior. If you wait till the epoxy has cured then you must remove the waxy amine blush and sand the surface so that the new coat can mechanically bond (vs the chemical bond).

Read up on the characteristics of your chosen brand of epoxy. Each one is a bit different.
