It kinda interesting, this color thing...I always ask what does our eyes have incommon with fishes? just because we don't see red, does that neccessarily mean fish don't either- the camo thing I can relate to up to the pattern breakup, but as for the color thats a different angle.

Amazing work foxfish. How do the mods improve the gun - reduce recoil?
Re. where red disappears, the location, angle, intensity and colour of the light source might also have some bearing. Don't know what "light pipes" are but if they are a light source that you carry then several of those factors will be different than a midday or setting sun, for example. Re. Magpie's reading of red letters at depth. Did you see that program on Hypnotism & Suggestion last week? Some people are very susceptible to suggestion and it is effects colour perception. One of the tests they did was to get such a person to look at grey tones on a screen and see them in colour. Supposedly he did this under hypnothism and without, I think the effect was about 70% w/o hypnotism & about 88% with. I have pretty good eye sight & colour perception but see very little colour when diving except in the shallows where the lime green "sea lettuce" and purple aglae(?) are quite vivid. |
