spearshaft mod

Tell me what you think of this. I have a biller shaft that uses a slider. I'd like to modify it by going to a machine shop and having them drill a hole near the back of the shaft so I can crimp the mono straight onto it. I got the idea from the seac-sub XFire; their shafts do the same thing. Do you guys think it will work ok?

Should work fine as long as the mono doesnt hinder your trigger mech. Also make sure to bevel the edges of the hole and polish them so the metal wont cut the mono. Electritians pull string coated with some rubbing compound works really well for pollishing.

Does the shaft have shark fins? if so you could always drill through one of the fins like the riffe shafts.

hehe, I wish it had shark fins. I'd of done it myself if it did. My dad has a dremel tool that i thought i'd use to polish the hole. would a wire brush head work well?
