Re: Dorset Spearfishing 2007

Five ventured out this afternoon - three in the harbour and two hardy souls went in at Chesil Cove....

The three that went in the harbour now have their Christmas starters - vis was fine and the sun on our backs was very welcome, but no fishes were seen..

We then enjoyed (I hope) my tasty titbits and mince pies before heading off into the sun..

How did the two in Chesil Cove get on?

Re: Dorset Spearfishing 2007

John the titbits were spot on mate as was the dive and the company.
Sorry that Glowworm had to take those few mince pies home but I did my best.
Scallops are all cleaned and ready for the big day, now all I’ve got to do is shoot me a turkey.

Re: Dorset Spearfishing 2007

Well done guys. I was also in today (twice) giving you boys some support even if from 100 miles away. Only saw one bass and one squid and caught nothing. Still I feel virtuous having tried anyway.

Re: Dorset Spearfishing 2007

A nice dive with good company and John's tit bits really hit the spot after the dive.

Podge don't feel guilty about the last mince pies i made use of them later.

10 pies for anybody is a good effort.....

Re: Dorset Spearfishing 2007

I've been following your plans and I'm glad you all got in and got some kind of vis.
A bass eh Dave, great to see one one this time of year. Now I must get back in myself. It's been 3 weeks so I'll cold but maybe there's some vis round here somewhere.

Re: Dorset Spearfishing 2007

ummm... I ended up having to take my Labrador to the vets, then onto the animal hosptial... so no diving for me today, but having to pay out a rather large cheque instead! arse! (My dog is still in the vet-hospital on a drip....but she'll be OK)

Happy Christmas all.
Clive.

Vote for Podge? He practically lives in Dorset now!
Good bit of perseverence there guys. Pity not to many flatties but you got in for the spirit of things. I went for a nice Newquay surf today in your honour.
Here reindeer...here donner...here blitzen....bring it on...
Merry Christms to you all.

Re: Dorset Spearfishing 2007

Well just cause there’s a bit of cold weather don’t let it put you off boys.
When out today with Almostafish (he’s back from the North Sea and still alive so no monofin for me) and managed a few shellfish for tea.
It fact had a great dive vis wasn’t up to much so you had to be right down there before you could see much, but the water didn’t feel to cold (the D3 said 8/9 degrees) and it was flat calm with a hint of winter sunshine.
Stayed in for a couple of hours and tried hard for a flatfish but saw not a one.
Still a few scallops about if you know where to look…
Happy days Gents
