Re: Dorset Spearing 2008

Mrs S had a nose / sinus op too and says to keep taking the painkillers, even when it's not hurting! Just passing this on for what it's worth! Hope you're feeling better soon mate.

p.s. just saw the last post - what a swine! He must think you're telling porkies!

I went down to visit Podge and all I could do was catch a snap of him leaving in a hurry...

Re: Dorset Spearing 2008

podge , my other half agrees with Sarnian's , take anti inflammatory pain killers like Ibuprofen , this can reduce swelling and may aid in the healing process . Don't exceed the stated dose as this can be harmful ( Doctor's disclaimer ) , there is no point anyway because a higher dose is no more effective . Like Sarian said you don't need to be in pain to take them , as long as they do not upset your stomach . Hope your soon better and back in the water .

While I'm here ,
3 best meat dishes in the world ,
roast loin of Stag
grilled Goat in white wine sauce
slow roasted haunch of Wild Boar , frozen for a week and cooked in red wine with onions , carrots , garlic , fennel, juniper berries , celeriac , bay leaves , lots of salt and pepper .
Just a thought !

Re: Dorset Spearing 2008

Well chaps and chapets, I’ve been home for a couple of days now and I must say that I feel like shit.
The operation was a little more involved than I was lead to believe and went on for a full 2 hours.
Instead of the original plan to just burn a little more of a gap for the nasal passages the surgeon went at it full bore with his scalpel and chisel to make “a proper job the first time around”.

Thanks for the kind good wishes and get well messages and I’ll be back down annoying you all just as soon as I can.

Oh and ain’t it great that the weather is sssoooooo lovely at the moment, still seas with a calm wind and hours of unbroken sunshine, just right for when you’re stuck at home….

Hey Podge - good you're home now - home cooking and all, not that you can taste anything I'm guessing!

Get well soon!

Re: Dorset Spearing 2008

Thanks Clive and yes it’s better at home than stuck in hospital.
I can taste hot, cold, sweet and salt and that’s about it, where I can only breath though my month I’ve now got a sore throat and a tongue like a piece on dogfish skin.
But it’ll get better and I can only look forward to when it does.

As long as Bryn has a bit of that boar left for when I’m recovered I’m going to come down there and eat / drink him out of house and home.

Re: Dorset Spearing 2008

Thanks Guys but-
Enough of my nose, has anybody shot anything?
I need stories of wild seas and bravery with monster Bass and crazy eyed Plaice all caught while fighting off the menace of the Jet Ski and the wind surfer.
Anybody help with this???

Brett you’re South African which makes you a little mad, got any good stories??
