step 6 problems

hi
just joined the forum and i am new to the sport. when i first started i had troubles equalizing with the valsalva method but i did get better with practice. now i am trying to learn the frenzel fattah method but i am stuck on step 6. i have absolutely no problem doing step 3 but when i fill my cheeks i feel like i have no control any more. i was wondering if anyone has any more tips to put the soft palate in neutral position. the things that seem to help me the most are sounds or other actions that i already know how to do. i think i may be asking too much but i have spent hours working on it and i just have no clue what to do while sitting there grunting and flexing with my cheeks inflated and my fingers waiting for air to blow by them. thanks for any advice
ken

Re: step 6 problems

I've read all those steps before, and here's what i concluded:

I've been doing the frenzel technique for years without even knowing it. Just try filling your cheeks, closing your throat, then "bobbing" your adams apple up and down until your ears equalize when you increase pressure with your cheeks. Those steps and diagrams really make the frenzel technique look more complicated than it actually is....

Try breathing out (or in) through both your nose and mouth at the same time. You can only do that with the soft palate in the neutral position, and it might be an easier way of training it.
