Re: Cayman HF2!!! (brown camo!!!)

Thanks Mundial. This is what I wanted to know. For sure I need a 90cm speargun (the last I had went sold to Podge) and these are my candidates (no order of preference):
Cayman HF2 (in february...)
XXV Gold
Seatec Gabbiano
T20 (before they run out of stock)
Cressi Geronimo
cutting my old Master Comp 106 to make a 90 of it...

I take this as a good advise my friend, but I wasn't thinking to do it myself:
I know my limits and I know I'd certainly loose one or two fingers if I ever ventured to try that... My neighbour is a plumber and cuts pipes everyday so he'd me my man in the case.
What gun did you cut? (and how many fingers?)

A youngster (or "yoof" = "yute" ItAmE?!) recently asked me what the difference is between an "asbo" and a "hoodie", I explained that the former is like an old fashion "ABC" and the latter is a "chav" with a sweatshirt. Doesn't it make you proud (no). Well, at least we're not as fat as the Scots (news story today), yet.

Good point -- spearing seems almost un-American in its lack of powerful engines. That must be why you have those huge tree trunks with a gizillion bands...and BOATS (knew there had to be a power engine angle there somewhere). The English on the other hand are not to be trusted with their own money or powerful engines.

After a very wet, cool start, things got pretty good towards the end of August & early September. Although I've shot as many mullet (a species I see you are familiar with!) as bass this year; never saw any mullet last year. Got a good catch of scallops, some pollock - no crabs this year (or lobsters) though . I hope to get at least one or two more trips in this season -- fingers crossed for more. It's turned cooler, wetter & darker this week but this weekend is looking promising. Looks like the spearos that are still active are getting big fish. I had a good trip in October last year, so there is still time. Never heard of blue-runner but I've heard do the big Spanish Mackeral -- do they taste as good as regular "horse" mackeral.

A good point Mr X that a Spanish team member told me: those fancy formed tubes (to reduce up/down axis bending when loading) are pointless in guns < 100Cm. Kinda obvious really.

I can see the benefit of a small or hydro side section in strong currents (ie here) as you're not fighting the gun left or right whilst aiming.. That triax idea is nice, and the NON magnum Mambas (35CM tube I think). oh dear, credit card finger getting itchy again......

good huntin'

sounds like a good deal .
The bazillion is no problem, but for the gillion I must ask my wife (that's just because many people told me that her gillions are more stylish than mine...)

I've heard that. Both about your wife, and Italian women in general.

Re: Cayman HF2!!! (brown camo!!!)

Hey fellas,

Does anyone know if this is set for US release as well? I already wrote OMER asking, but I'm too impatient to wait for them to answer!

Basically I'd say 'yes, why not?', assuming that North America is a strategic market for Omer (on a world scale, 87,53% of the Omer products are bought by Fondueset). Not sure though because there is a precedent: for example Omer Usa decided not to import the Omer XXV Gold speargun, probably considering it was not going to match the requirements of american spearos (very slim, "flimsy" gun, just 25mm thick barrell). However it's just a precedent that probably doesn't count in this case: the HF2 does not look "flimsy" at all..
Ask Mark L. at Omer Usa.

Re: Cayman HF2!!! (brown camo!!!)

Well, and I'd like to think so because the HF sold so well in the US. I'd like to think that Mark noticed this and went "Yeah, we're not missing out on this one..."

Re: Cayman HF2!!! (brown camo!!!)

From what I hear the US is getting like 150 of the L.E.'s I'm sure the standard HF2 will be more widely available.

EH, I don't need a LE gun. It's not a Ferrari, and if the color is that cool, I'll get the barrel annodized, and I'll be the only one with it!

You can make a business of it: women like my wife would pay gillions of bazillions of dollars for a pink Cayman HF2...
