beuchat marlin comp

anyone out there had any up close encounters with the beuchat marlin competition? I'm wondering what the differences are between it and the original marlin and if its worth the extra money. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Question Re: beuchat marlin comp

Thought a question mark icon & some images might help draw some attention to your question.

Looking at the pictures, it looks like a cross between my two guns - an SA railgun & a light Omer XXV. With choice of aluminium or carbon. That could be very cool. Pity the carbon version costs so much more. The new competition has a tapered barrel (although only to 28mm) & the quick-load metal spear guides, neat.

Re: beuchat marlin comp

i did notice the quick load guide on the comp after the post. it actually looks like a cross between the marlin and marlin carbone itself. thanks for the reply mr. x.

Hello! the differences between marlin and marlin comp. is that the new marlin comp. has a new alunminun barrel with a plastic rail into it. I think is going to be a good quite gun for fishing around rocks. Go to subprof.com, there you will see both guns. Hope it will help.

Tomy.

Re: beuchat marlin comp

Yeah I want to try one too. I think when it comes to alloy guns and having a rail, it's good to have the rail made of some sort of plastic to keep down the sound.

Re: beuchat marlin comp

Have just taken ahold of a 11.5 marlin competition today.Already using a 1250 marlin carbone wich i'm really enjoying. As soon as the weather sorts itself out i hope to get out and give it a test. As quite a few of the boys who hang around the shop are itching as well it will be a pull no punches test and i will let you know how it goes
