Miles-do you know my girlfriend?? You must because you both seem to take a great deal of pleasure in watching me bang my head against the wall!
Great, great footage. I'll bet I wasn't the only one yelling at the screen "Your tip, YOUR TIP!!!!" while watching him pump up his gun. Now that this is your fulltime deal, are you putting together packages for us "man! I gotta go there and do that!" types?? Buddy? ![]()

Great video Miles. It provides some useful insights. Can't wait for the DVD(?!).
BTW I've never seen anything like that airgun before -- is it vintage/homemade/...? |

I think it's a variation on the 'hydraulically charged' pneumatics. There is a thread somewhere around that discusses the design in detail - though this gun is different that the ones in the thread. They worked by repeated partial insertions of the shaft into the barrel - the shaft was sealed and would push the water column against a one-way valve. The valve would open under the pressure - allowing water into the body of the gun barrel where it exerted pressure against a pneumatic piston. The one way valve being the ticket to maintaining what could be variable pressure - depending on the range/power needed.
The gun in the movie appears to employ a leveraged pump in the same way. |

Hiya
I've been a bit busy over the past week or two, so i'll cram in some pic's!! My wife was a bit tired of all the tuna fishing and wanted to get away and relax. So, she MADE me take her rock and surf fishing!!! Once back home, we managed some tuna trips, but nothing spectacular to report. The usual, run of the mill, 40-70kg class tuna (90-160lb's), are still around in fairly good numbers. (check out the FABULOUS FLAT sea!!)It should start to quiten down in the next 2-4weeks, as we come towards the end of the season. Regards miles
