Been a long time but yes. Couldn't find anything in my log which usually indicates it wasn't worth logging. IIRC it's a long swim which is why you'll see a lot of guys diving off kayaks. It was a solo night dive back when I did that kind of stuff. Swam across mostly flat scrub reef before coming to a small change in relief. Don't believe I made it all the way out to the "Hall of Fame" buouys but must have been close. I don't think I got much past 20' at the most.

Probably not telling you anything new but boat traffic is heavy there. Bring a flag. The swim should be at least as long as the one at Dania Pier. Hope that helped.

P.S. How have the conditions been lately?

Re: South Florida Diving

Thanks for the info, i actually plan to go with two of my buddies in their 8 ft. raft. What a surprise right? a cuban (me) on a raft . But anyway, the past weekend was flat. with a SE wind between 0-5. Hopefully it will stay this way.

If anyone tries to stop you just scramble up onto the beach fast as you can. Safe!

My beach dive attempt failed but dove it from a boat many times. Well worth it IMO but that was a long time ago. Most of my diving has been done in Broward. Beach and boat. Specifically out of Port Everglades. There used to be a beach diving book covering the tri-county area. Inexpensive and invaluable. Good luck.
