Hey guy's,

Just moved to central jersey and can't get the skinny on spearing regs. Everyone tells me it's the same as fishing regs but I need to know if it has to be longspear,speargun,can scuba be used etc. I've asked the d.e.c.,bait shops,dive shops etc and no one seems to know.
Any advice would be appreciated. I'm also looking for fishing buddies which is why I replied rather than start a new post. I moved here from westchester N.Y.....Thanx......Tom

As far as I know SCUBA or free, any type of spear. Perhaps you can't find the regs because they don't exist ? Here are the regs for fish sizes, limits and seasons:

I know you can spear on scubba but that is lame..

Im trieing to find out if i can spar in jersey in the fresh water and wat are the rules.

Hey Jimy,

I don't believe I've heard of a state where freshwater spearing is legal except for carp with a bow.
