Thinking of an overnight camping safari to Elliott Key. Whoever wants to go could go but you have to spearfish and have a boat to make it out there. We plan on checking in with the ranger and staying overnight. Setting up tents and stuff should be cool. Anyone camp out at Elliot or Boca CHita around this time? Im a first timer doing this here but I camp and have survival skills as well as lifeguard skills and can cook. Feels like an application to somewhere but the bottom line is that I know what I'm doing...

Well you know I'm always down.. hopefully the weather acts accordingly. I have a 10x10 tent and camping gear, we'll need lots of water and bug repellent ahh! There are many great spots off Eliot Key and visibility is great on a nice day. Lets see if anyone here is interested

Looks like this week may be a bust with harsh winds and low visibilty... we need a nice window to open hopefully within the next few weeks. It wouldn't be bad to set up a game plan as of now though

weather may be bad for us here, but you know next week things may go real well with the weather, then again you know how this things are! 1 day it's sunny the next is cloudy and windy the next it rains. We will see how it plays for the Miami area.

Usually April is windy as heck
...but Elliot with its channels and so fourth might be OK...how many days is the adventure for? I got quite a bit of camp gear...plus the most important a 200,000 btu fishfryer...but my means of transport is a jetski so I'd have to piggyback it on someones boat... |

Fishfryer would be awesome.... as long as we have fish to fry haha! The trip I think would run 2 days either Thurs-Fri... Fri-Sat... Sat-Sun depending on our availability I suppose.
Here is a link with some info: Biscayne National Park Camping Guide Boca Chita is open all year but lacks any type of home conveniences . Its $10 per night for the camp site we'll need and docking fees are $15 per night... we'll only need a night anyway. There is no fresh water on the island soo.... we'll need to have a generous supply ![]() |

![]() ![]() you go boy!!!We first need to get a head count, from their we determine amount of essentials (water, food) we need, as well as gear (amount of coolers&ice), tents, tarps etc. we shoulds also tentatively schedule a day-IMO weekdays, say M-W would be better, less boat traffic. April is kinda windy, but workable...lets get the ball rolling...Who's in and what days are you vibing? |

For me a Tues-Wed trip would work since I have class on Mondays, if I work one that tues or wed I would have to call sick lol. April is pretty windy but I'm sure we'll get a break. I have a 2-3 man tent and some inflatable mattresses, also I could bring a 32quart cooler if needed.... Man from the looks of things we are gunna need quite a bit of stuff lol
