and so are the fish...I forgot how much I missed them keys. Headed for a couple of days of R&R to Tavenier. Weather was rough to say the least had 20-30 mph winds and seas 4-6' we tried for 2 days to head out oceanside but had to turn back after a mile out due to the rough conditions...we went on the bayside for a few recons between boogie boarding on the "Run&Gun" and hit "sheep-pot" on what looked like a man made lobster motel (concrete rubble, oil drums and what looked like a few shopping carts) in the middle of nowhere, not to far away from that spot was another that had "go-mania" after shooting a nice go and sheepy I faded back and let my son train on the keys mellow fish...he put some hurtin' on them to say the least.
In the bay Choppy 2's, windy but as alway quite clear for the conditions present 10-15' viz in most of the area, we dove with rash guards which was a refreshing change...gotta love the Keys ![]() Final Tally (for 2 days & about 2 hours of spearin') 7 go's (largest 20") 5 Sheep (largest 21.5"...new personal best) |
