Video Editing SW and Cam white balance setting

Hello All,

I have just bought a housing for a Panasonic TZ3, a 7Mp point and shoot.

On my first outing the pictures were great, a badly framed example attached. I used the cameras "UNDERWATER" setting which I imagine compensated colours for me.

Videos with AWB (auto white balance) were too green/blue. For example, rust/chocolate brown kelp looked green. I tried "CLOUDY DAY" WB and things improved. Any tips there?

Last question: my cam generates .MOV films. What would be an easy editing option to: cut, splice, etc. AND to downconvert for Youtube and the like. Oh, and free would be good too

THANKS

Az, my camera produces MOVs too and tbh you'll make life a lot easier if you convert the movs to something else before editing, then you can just use the Windows Movie Maker to splice it all together and put text and music on.

I use RAD video tools, they're free, and they work a treat to make movs into avi's or wmv's. Bink Downloads

Re: Video Editing SW and Cam white balance setting

Nope, sorry, not had to do anything of that, mine have seemed fine straight from the camera. I'd guess the LED torch on night dives has helped in that regard.

With RAD tools, when converting you get a box pops up asking what codec you want to use, I've found the Windows Media Video Codec produces the best combination of quality and size.
