Re: Live from Egypt 2006

The competition has started ok today. Small problem is that they have very little time to put the official depth watch on the athletes.

Re: Live from Egypt 2006

hi everyone. i am sorry to say but yesterdays the doctors pulled the plug for the swedish freediver after beeing several days in coma. we had a silent moment for him yesterday down here in egypt. he broke the one and only important rule - never train alone. it is very sad and it shows the importance of always training with another freediver.

here is a new and nice thing to chat about: i just came back from the dynamicspool and if anyone thought it was 21degrees they where wrong. we checked it with a d3 and a d9 and they both showed 16 degrees. 16!!!! It is shallow the last meter on each end so it is kind of a strange pool.

today the competition is running and i havent seen any delays yet, allthough i am on land... going down now to find a sunbed close to where the boats are coming in.

i check back to you later with the latest rumours, performances and gossip!

Thanx emil for the updates, sorry for the loss of the freediver, these things shouldent be happening.
Anyway it sounds like it will be intressting to say the least about the pool event. Hope all dives to day will go safe and score alot of points.

I'm looking forward to your next gossip report, tell us more about Herbert and his 9+ STA is it just a myth or will he bring some WR to the competition ?
Emil do you have any more news about the Finnish team ??

Hope to hear from you later

Re: Live from Egypt 2006

Herbet did a 9:03 or something like that and it is no myth. My friend William Winram told me on the phone yesterday that he was there when it happened. He is apparently in very good shape and by the sound of things even the 111m is possible.

Cheers Stavros...

PS. I will probably have some more info on performances when the competition finishes and the Greek team cpt gets out of the water.

Can't wait hearing how the competition went. Especially Czech Petr Vala and his 70m attempt.

Re: Live from Egypt 2006

If everything works out, Czech will win. What do you think? Pedersen's team will surely be strong in the pool so that's kinda scary but 150+ dynamics of Vala and Zlatuska with Stepanek's 200+ and 7:00 statics for all of them seems to be unbeatable. Go CZECH

Re: Live from Egypt 2006

I think we are going to see many more BO's and red cards. This is a competition and people have nerves, no matter how well they do in training.

Training results, and comp results are two different things! 9 white cards are the the secret of the victory, or less failure then the others!

H. Balazs, what happened to the Hungarian team? There were no athletes in the start lists... Was this just another organisational error or you did not go?

Re: Live from Egypt 2006

Apparently William Winram was OK on his 84m dive - don't know any info about the rest of the athletes
Will keep updating when I get more info
