Hi,
You can find the announced performances for women in here http://jome.homelinux.net/results/in...s&event_id=186 I apologize, the site is still a bit rough (under development), but you get the general idea at least. I'm hoping I can get someone from the organization to update results in semi-realtime. Unfortunately I don't have the time (coaching an athlete) Or if anyone else hanging around here has some spare time, I can show you how to do it in 10 minutes... Please bare in mind that the site is far from finished, but feed back of course is always welcome...

Just heard that the womens competition has been postponed due to bad weather. It was supposed to start at 9:00, but it will be 13:15 (this is second hand information so anyone planning your dives please check the official info and don't take my word for it!).
Personally I think the discussion about the weather is a bit overheated. It's an outdoor sport and it goes with the territory that you cannot guarantee 100% even conditions for everybody. We've been out there on the best and worst days and it really is not that bad if there is a bit of waves or current - you just need to train for it. What I'm seeing right now out side is honestly not that bad. Just my opinnion...I just hope they dont use up all the margins too easily - there's not guarantee the weather will get any better either. Then again, I don't really mind waiting either...

What, is it windy Jome? It was REALLY windy in the Gulf yesterday, perhaps it has blown your way. Thanks for the update

Well since you're down there Jome, if you happen to see a bald Egyptian/armenian diver with an omer camo spearfishing wetsuit..(you cant miss him), tell him hi for me, thats Ashod Papazian the egyptian freediving champ and that omer wetsuit is actually MINE (but thats a whole other funny story)

The wind is currently 14 knots and not really slowing down it seems. And tomorrow is supposed to be even stronger wind.
Have to say the sea is not at it's most tempting right now

Great updates Simo, Dave, Stavros et al. Sorry to hear the weather is closing in a bit but it is a competition which is best on the day, and if anything it'll bring a bit more uncertainty and excitement into the results.
Being here at work and not there is driving me completely nuts, though work = money = trips away freediving/ trips to appease the wife. Still doesn't make it fair though. Half of the fun of these comps is socialising with everyone. And yes the Fins left an impression on me too - great bunch of lads. Looking forward to hearing of Natalia's dive this afternoon, if it is successful then that's a huge jump in the WR. And let's face it, she hasn't been lazy this year! Cheers, Ben
