Hello freediving friends
It's that time again  . A year is almost around and H2O team is organizing Maribor Apnea Days again. This year with lots of changes especially on video and promotion. If everything works out we should have a big screen with live UW video on it. There should be about 10 cameras in the water (we learned a lot from the World Championship ). Some new info on the site and a freshed up look. We still have some work to do but its almost finished now. Hope you like it.

Hi freedivers
I'm sad to announce that we have canceled the MAD CUP 2008. Below you will find the official statement from the organizing committee copied from news | competition info | freediving competition Maribor Apnea Days MAD CUP 2008. ---- MAD CUP CANCELED! 15.02.2008 21:06 Earlier today the MAD CUP organizing committee has made a decision to cancel the MAD CUP 2008. The reason is lack of interest shown from freedivers. We got lots of unableness, unwillingness or at least uncertainness to attend, from competitors we are in regular contact with. Also no interest was shown on freediving forums. In the end all of this led to only a handful of registrations. As we wanted to take this year’s competition again to a higher level we were on a tight financial plan. As the attendance of competitors is a prerequisite for sponsor satisfaction, financial income and after all for high level performances such competition needs, we were forced to make a decision and cancel the competition. We are currently thinking of rescheduling and rethinking our future visions of freediving competitions as we are unsure if these kind of expensive competitions are the right path. We would appreciate your opinions on this subject. We are sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused you and hope to see you some other time.

Sad to hear about this, Sandi. Last years MAD Cup was really a great event, as was the world championship, and your team has shown that you are very much on the right track with hosting competitions. The good organisation of the competitions, the covering, the prizes, the internet updates, everything made it a great competition to attend as an athlete.
My schedual was already filled up as well as my studies keeping me from coming this time. I am sure there will still be interest for such competitions in the future and hope you will rather reschedual or wait a year than to quit completely. I'd love to come back to Maribor! Best wishes, Elisabeth

I'm so sorry to hear about it Sandi!! Mad Cup is a really good competition...I know how much effort you and your team spend in organisation, for the competitor's point of view it was always nothing less than perfect!
At this point as experienced organiser you probablly know what is worth of trying... As for me, I'm in trouble sheduling myselff for the competition, but othervise woludn't miss the chance to be there, compete and party in Maribor !!!
