Anders Larsson made a good long dive in DNF, durning this weekends "Finnkampen" competition, where Sweden and Finland competed for the title Finnkampen Champion 2008.
Anders secured the title for Sweden with his, 145m DNF dive, a new swedish record, three meter longer than the old record. He ended the dive with a good and clean SP, and just smiled while waiting for the judges to hand out the white card. Cheers Flojt More info at; Freediving Team Åland - Home

For Freediving team: thank you for a excellent competition! It was a honor to be a judge at this kind of extremely well organized competition! See you at Åland again next year in next Finnkampen

Kimmo, I talked with you a lot during the competition, and learnt that the benefit of doubt sould go to the Athlets advantage. So my Q to you is, why the red card ?
Smiles Cheers D

Thanks for a great competition. It was a bit exhausting (sta-dyn-dnf-sta-dyn iq-sprint-ice dip) for one day, but great fun. Too bad the winter flu did it's toll, but I hope the next time we can come with a bigger crew

Sounds like a great event, and a slowly growing trend of having fun events at freedive competitions. Cheers, Ben

On a serious side, Anders' swim was amazing to watch. He clearly has more in him. It's especially cool that the gains are not just from packing more etc, but his technique is just honed to perfection. I was told that he can go 25m with one cycle and has done 75m with 3 cycles

I'm sorry I don't have any, but I saw a lot of video cameras, so I'm guessing the FTÅ guys are on that...Just might take some time.

So this is the forum where everyone are and everything happens...
Well it's my first post in here and with this message I'd like to give a HUGE thanks for your Ålanders for arrangin such a great competition last weekend!!! Have to admit that yes, it was quite challenging competition both physically and mentally (and I'm not talking about the next day condition), but VERY instructive and fun too, especially the funny games part. But if you think that the competition as a whole took about eight ours... Well, I'm very proud that I was there with all those great freediving enthusiastics! It's really something to remember! And hats of to Anders, he's really amazing!!! See you hopefully next year and sooner. There's still some competitions to come here in Finland Oh, I got one video of the comp too, but I first have to ask if my friend accepts me to show it. It's about the very last part of the Funny games, the dip thing ... |

I'm staggered. Can't say much, but I hope he keeps on training and envolving.
They only thing that really pointed my eye was the amount of air he took with him. There were pretty many mouthfulls he packed. Looking forwad to getting myself in those events. |
