"LIQUIFICATION" Performance Freediving International's 2008 Competition Event

Go to Performance Freediving | news | for news and daily updates on Performance Freediving International's 2008 competition event "LIQUIFICATION" scheduled for 21-27 April 2008, in Grand Cayman.

Today legendary freediver Bob Croft and his wife Edna arrived from Pennsylvania to join the Performance Freediving International group in Grand Cayman for the event. Bob has one amazing and funny story after the other to tell.

Cheers,
Craig

Thanks Craig for the announcement! Does Mandy (or anyone else) plan any new records? Or is it a secret? Will we see daily videos as it was the case during past Cayman PFI competitions?

Hey Ivo,

Tomorrow's performance declarations from the athletes are scheduled for later this evening and will be posted under updates this evening. Performance Freediving | news |

The training has been going well for the athletes and it should be an exciting competition.

The weather in Grand Cayman will be improving throughout the competition. Tomorrow will be a little windy with small waves. Water visibility has been between 35-60 meters.

I will have to get back to you on the question regarding video footage.

Cheers,
Craig

Not a good start from Mandy, BO after a 54m nofins dive. I wonder if it was actually a blackout or she just made a mistake, dipped her airway under or something.

Trux - I gather Mandy is going for 92m CWT: globeandmail.com: Saving her breath for new depths

Yes, indeed! I cannot even imagine how it is possible - even in our 50m pool I don't see the other divers when they are further than some 35m!

Re: "LIQUIFICATION" Performance Freediving International's 2008 Competition Event

Grant Graves has just e-mailed out that Rob King has made his 55m CNF dive and new US Record. I haven't any word of Mandy's 92m World Record CB Dive, hopefully she will make it.

Cheers Wes

Results are up on their website and it doesn't look that great unfortunately... she turned at 49m.

Re: "LIQUIFICATION" Performance Freediving International's 2008 Competition Event

I was up at 8am to check the Performance Freediving website (Performance Freediving | home |) to check out Mandy's dive - on there it says she turned at 49m, I wonder what went wrong. I haven't heard anything else, but if anyone hears, or anyone who's there can fill us in, I'm sure I'm not the only person who wants to know what happened!

Congratulations to Rob, Junko and everyone else making national records and PBs in this comp!

Big hugs
x
Sara
