Re: New CMAS WR

I could not agree more trux, but this is freediving not finswimming. You can't mix that, it's completely different sports... like soccer and handball... I think it's a mistake, but I also know every finswimmer will be happy to take a free medal at Euro championship so...

Are you sure? I spoke with the French representation trainer and he told me finswimmers were training for that discipline, not freedivers.

EDIT: CMAS Championships are always for all underwater sports (freediving, finswimming, orienteering, UW hockey, ...). Is this one an exception?

It is basically the same, but there are some differences:
  1. Controlled samba is not allowed, so will lead to a disqualification. You can certainly imagine that there are huge differences among individual judges for considering what is a samba and what not.
  2. The rule states you have to remove your mask and/or nose clip. On the French Championship I then saw several freedivers who removed just one of them and were not disqualified, hence the "or" seems to be important in the rules.
  3. I did not verify the CMAS rules for this, but was surprised seeing several freedivers reversing the order of the tasks during the SP - showing and telling OK, and removing the mask only then. They were still confirmed.

Re: New CMAS WR

I know finswimmers training for this, but this is freediving discipline is it not? So for me that's mixing apples and oranges... and makes no sense at all. Make it finswimming discipline and that's fine but do not try to force finswiming into freediving, that's just wrong.

And the official CMAS surface protocol is this:

1 Dive out and stay above the surface.
2 You have 5sec to recover
3 In next 5sec you must touch disc that is handled to you by judge (In JB you touch judge's head)
4 Samba or post blackout movement are not allowed

Re: New CMAS WR

Cmas rules smiliar like Leonid İliç Brejnev rules
as far as remeber when you get BO you can not join any compitation for 6 months.. you must touch the disk not to touch judge head(this was very important point stayed in my mind )
and remember that: jump blue was helding before you dive -15m you turn on a 4x15 .then oneday they changed first dive to -10 then turn 4x15
