I heard of some latex "condom" like unisex no heel stockings, lined with, of all things, shredded pig entrails, kiln-dried and fluffed to a polyester-like sponge fabric. Claimed to be warmer than 3 mil neo. All natural, all green. Cost about $25.00 pr. Easily disposable, bio-degradible, and I believe even edible.
These can be viewed at the following link, if its still up and running: www.slapmysheep.net The animal rights people were trying to shut down the site this summer, or so rumor has it. |

Well at least I have feet!
I have seen your toes, ..........each one is the size of my wrist, and your big toe sure as hell resembles the penis of a pack mule (but with a nail on it)! Just how expensive are custom made fins for feet that are wider than they are long? Sincerely, I. Will Dewer |

I use 3mil socks from Elios - smoothskin on the outside. Lovely socks, very comfortable and have been very hard wearing...

Thanks Donna!
Horace, if you know anyone who wants this pair of Omer Bat 25, please let me know. Does this new store of yours deal in Omer? |

I really like those open cell ankle ones as they seal well with the suit - my pair died a few weeks ago and I haven't found another - anyone know somewhere in the UK you can get them (or a European website - I am sick of paying customs on orders from US sites!)

Otherwise... 3mm and 5 mm sox from Imersion work just fine and have a 'grippy' and relatively tough sole. I buy them from Apnea (and have never been charged VAT from Jersey either... |

I used to have a pair of those Immersion socks. They were a great sock and even had a sole on them. I don't know where to get a new pair- I bought mine at a DEMA show a few years back.
I had a couple of pairs of Picasso socks and sold them both- craziest sizing system I've ever seen! I have those OMER socks in two different thicknesses, 3mm and 6mm, and they work pretty well. I have since switched to ELIOS socks. I started with a pair of opencell inside/nylon outside. The were VERY warm, but my feet slipped aorund in them like crazy when I tried to walk on dry land in them- and NO I didn't lube up the inside to put them on. I think I lost them at last Summer's Freedive-A-Palooza. I have since replaced them with a pair of Low density, double nylon, 5mm socks. They are great and kept my feet warm all weekend under the ice. the only thing that got cold on my feet were the heels of my feet when I wore my Waterway monofin.Somewhere along the way I got a pair of 5mm socks from Bluewater Hunter. they worked good for summertime stuff, but no where near as warm as the rest that I mentioned. Nick, I'll bring an extra suit for you next time so you won't get so cold in yours. If your looking for (coldwater) gloves I can reccomend a few. The Picasso 3-finger mitts are great- but nowdays are WAY too expensive. You could also try to get a pair of drygloves, like my blue ones, from a divestore or Ebay. they aren't cheap, about the same price as the Picasso mitts, but they are warm and you can find them cheaper online. My current favorite's are my 3-finger mitts from ELIOS, man I seem to have fallen in love with that comapany, they are 5mm nylon outers with a silver slick skin inner coating over opencell. They slide on easy and kee[p my hands warm. I think they only cost somthing like $25 (or was that Euros?) so the price can't be beat. Jon

I have found the Imersion 4mm double lined titanium socks very good.
I get shoegoo and apply it to the sole it works very well at stopping premature wear. They are comfortable warm, and very hardwearinig
