Re: need advice on equipment!

Masks are odd depending on your face I have a sphera that suits my brother better than me I usually use a cressi minima but on a course i tried a cressi pinnochio and didn't like it at all. Try as many as you can to see what feels best.

lol kills a 8KG yellowtail and a 14KG stumpnose just fine mate Thats what i like about the blade its small and sharp and very rugged. But the most important things with knifes I would say is grip comfort with you gloves on, a good sheath for storage and wont hook. And obviously a really sharp blade. I have another knife german made "cant remembe the name" ill post it later which is also awesome but the sheath really suck. But the blade design is superb.

And as far as masks go, I found that name doesnt count, make doesnt count, and price doesnt count either. Go to your closest spearo store, and try on every single mask till you find out which one suits your face perfectly if its 20$ or 400$ thats irrelevant since you cant put a price on comfort under water, and there is nothing worse than a leaky mask at 20m

But yeah listen to fondueset he gives good advice

Re: need advice on equipment!

Thanks, but I pretty much figured all this stuff out picking brains here on DB. I'm limited by what I've actually tried out though.

Another really awesome knife is the CRKT ABC. The sheath is not very practical for diving but it is a very nice all round knife and only about as long as my hand. they can be had on ebay for under $40 us. The tanto/drop style point is very good for dispatching fish and the design gives outstanding leverage and control. It comes ridiculously sharp from the factory. I've cut rope just by pressing down.
