Hi all,
some pics of my new surface rig. Just finished building it. I will take it to the water right now and test it. It is built very stable, so we can hang enough weight on the line for FIM... it might be even a bit over-stable. But it is still very light weight. What do you think?

Now that looks very familiar
 Nice work although I would suggest that you use heavier line. Great stuff

And one thing is yet missing, I want to install a clamp Aaron, the overall cost including line (50m) was about 120€, but I bought tube and line used on ebay so they were cheaper. I tried it out tonight in a lake nearby and it worked great with a 7kg lead weight. I have yet to try it with 15 or more kg for FIM. By the way, how much weight do you use for FIM?

Hi there,
Finally got around to taking the rig out for a dive on Saturday (shortest day here in the southern hemisphere) The key difference between the OZ and Kiwi Versions is the way the line is rigged. With the Kiwi version the line is attached through a mainsheet jammer block clipped to a patch sewn to the underside of the biscuit. To retrieve the line you just put one foot on the strap above the block and pull on the rope. No need to get out of the water, can bring up 8KG very rapidly, 20KG slower! Have used this setup with counterweight spreader bar clipped between the loop and the block - other end of bar clipped to boat. Nice N simple

Nice work Phil.
We used our rig several times now. 20kg for FIM was the most we put on it so far. It can hold a lot more than that though. We are planning to do some variable weight soon. The rig is capable of holding the extra weight and also a second line for retrieving the weight without having to pull up the ground weight. Retrieving works ok although it might look funny. We put the feet againt the bouy and pull on the line. It is like standing on the edge of a cliff and pulling up a line.
