D4, more reliable than D3?

I have just had a D3 die on me. (Again!!!). The usual issues - first the bottom right button stopped working then next day the info dropped off twice before it went completely blank.
I'll be takng it to the dealer who gave me it as a replacement for the last one, but does anyone know if the D4 has improved in this respect? The D3 was/is notorious in this respect, and rightly so in my experience. Luckily Suunto honour their guarantees and have good aftersales service.
If the D4 is an improvement it could be what I need.

i find the D3's and Mosquitos terrible when the batteries just start going, they reset and go all wonky. Did you try new batts?

I have a D4 and never have had any power issues with it. I haven't had it long enough for the battery to run low though...

Re: D4, more reliable than D3?

I didn't try new batteries. The battery had been in about 10 weeks but as the button stopped working first I thought it was probably more than a low battery. presumably the dealer will change the battery first.
