Question Mdr

i have been reading about the MDR and im very interested
one of the questions i have is at what depth does this reflex activate
and how often does of asystole actually happen

i had a talk with a cardiologist and he told me that they used to use this reflex to reverse tachycardia in infants but discontinued this method because of the occasional occurance of asystole because this reflex is a strong one that is difficult to control

There have been a lot of threads on the dive reflex. If you do a search on it you will find plenty of material!

Well, MDR was indeed discussed frequently, but asystole was so far mentioned here on DB only once briefly by Sebastian Murat in this thread: Apnea, vasoconstriction, and dynamics

It is good reading though, so I recommend going through it. Otherwise, you will find more reading about asystole at breath-hold diving relatively easily in Google. Try for example this:
