Bahamas 2005 Video

Just got back from my 2nd annual Bahamas trip, compliments of my guide and captain Connor (cdavis). Last year his older son Frank joined us; this year is was whipper snapper Preston. Crossing the gulfstream was without incident, and the weather was perfect. Unlike last year, we got an occasional cloud to hang over us, giving my pasty skin a much needed rest from the relentless tropic sun.

We dove many coral heads, islands, deep water, blue water (yikes), grabbed a fish here and there for dinner, and, unlike last year, there were no blackouts. Another great trip.

See the video here (right click, "save link/target as") .

Re: Bahamas 2005 Video

A fine trip, good diving, great shipmates, and it was really nice to have someone aboard who can take a good picture. Now, if I can just get my clunky computer to play this video, all will be wonderful.

Wow. Great video! Had to play it and sing along 5 times in a row (my favorite song). Good thing no one else was in the house. Connor, looks like you will have a fine dive partner there in Preston. It is so cool to see a family doing something like this together...keep up the good work and keep the videos coming Ted!

Re: Bahamas 2005 Video

loved the video!
It was very relaxing, and it looked like a lot of fun, especially in that clear water

take me with you next time, or i might be forced to steal a boat and hideout in the bahamas myself!

Great video! Looks like the youngster is hitting some decent depth as well! I'm sure he will really appreciate the vid when he older too.

Re: Bahamas 2005 Video

Thanks for all the kind words, everyone - glad you enjoyed it. I think I've just about exhausted my creativity on lame'ol Windows Movie Maker, and will soon be making the move to Pinnacle Studio or Adobe Premiere. Additionally, since the video mode (320x240, 15fps) that accompanies most digital cameras is starting to satisfy me less and less, I'll be getting a digital camcorder soon, and am wishing-on-a-star that a uw-housing won't send me to the poorhouse.

Connor, you can't see the video because you are most likely using a very very (very) old version of Windows Media Player. So old, in fact, that it is incapable of auto-downloading the new WMV(2.0) codec. Or, perhaps you have a particularly paranoid firewall. Whatever the reason, an upgrade should fix the problem... http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...a/default.aspx
