Well, it is the outlet...at times there is a heavy flow, of water. The fish are all there and sometimes water fowl.

SUB -ZERO: Lake Monona, Madison WISCONSIN. The air temp was -10 F (-23C) water temp was in the 50's. Lots of Bluegills and some Carp. To keep us on our toes there were some Giant Muskies lurking about.

Re: Freediving on YouTube

Well once when i dive in, i don't hear anything... I just drift away to some bather place. Can be detracting during the preparation for static but that don't bother me that much because I train in even worse conditions so I'm use to it.

really amazing! and it is exciting to watch ( or at least i think so!)
i agree with fcallagy it is very Noisy! it's hard to believe you could keep your concentration with all that racket - just watching it seemed so LOUD

i also noticed you didn't have your spotter giving you multiple time checks, is that a preference so you don't start thinking about it?

Re: Freediving on YouTube

hey princess,

yes, i always have (or at least try to have) my safety diver, so I can tell judges when will I have my checks... This time the first one was at 7min and then every 15sec. And yes, I don't like to know the time so I don't like lot of checks... I don't even have watch on my hand. Easier to drift away when I don't concentrate on the time factor.

And I know it was loud, haha, to loud, but what can you do... when official top comes you have to dive loud or not loud... of course it's easier to perform in quiet surrounding's but like I sad you can't always chose )

Ps. and thank you but it was not really that amazing

Re: Freediving on YouTube

It's my first attempt- so go easy on me. I, finally, got a youtube account about 15 minutes ago and decided to try and post this. I'm more of a still photography kind of guy so this is all very new to me.

Enjoy!

Re: Freediving on YouTube

Well Jon, this is definitely NOT a starters' video! WOW I think it's VERY good even GREAT!
Personally I would tune down on the veriety of scene transitions used. Go with just 1, 2 or perhabs 3 types of transition fitting the tune of the whole piece.
Colours, light, scenelength, score, rhythm, photo's, info are all very nice. Only the last 'disclaimer part' I didn't like because it took me out of mood of the rest of the video.

- are these fishes tame? maybe they are drugged? - you can catch them bare handed, while even holding a camera!

I'm looking forward to your next production, perhabs we could see the maker on camera as wel? I would love to see and hear you speak, I'm sure you'll have some nice oneliners to comment on your day of fishing!

Kars

Re: Freediving on YouTube

It was a learning experience. I'm just using Windows Movie makes since i already have it on my computer and didn't want to investing any extra software. I'll take your suggestions to heart about the transitions for future projects.

Not all of the fish were shot on the same day. When the pipe is on the water is warm and the fish are active. The days that the pipe is off the fish are sedentary and I can grab them by hand. Some days I bring a gun and other days I just take my camera. I had a friend make me a camera mount for my gun so I can shoot photos/videos while I hunt.

I put the disclaimer in at the and so some hook and line guy doesn't get all upset thinking I'm harming [i]his] fish.

My first digital camera was an Olympus 5050 with an INON dome lens. My latest one is a Casio Z-1000 in the Casio case for it. I don't like the fact that I can't put a wide angle lens on it, but the super small size of the thing and the fact that it's a 10Megapixel camera with double the video capabilities of my last camera more than make up for it.

Re: Freediving on YouTube

nice looking mount Jon, machined aluminium and stainless, very pro!!! I will be happy with half as good a job with my Panasonic TZ3 to omer cayman attempt next week.

Did you notice extra drag or balance problems hunting with the cam. mounted? I am worried as I dive in a very weedy area.
