Re: Freediving on YouTube

Cool video Fonduset! I like the clairity of the water very much, and suit looks also very cool! Was the person filming on scuba? What kind of music would you add to it?

Thanks for sharing!

Re: Freediving on YouTube

Kars, I just whipped that together in a few hours - but I will get some music with it. My dive buddy Jason filmed it with my Canon S80 - he's freediving also.
Youtube looses a little res but what was cool in the first clip was that pair of carp that formed right up with me. It was a short dive because I'd just come up when we spotted them - so maybe 15 seconds to breathe up.

Eric - those are aweseome - the last one is such a rush!

Cool videos Eric... I see that you have a neckweight around both your feet on the CNF descent video... I wonder how you manage to swim back with your feet bound together . Do you put it off (or switch it to your neck) on the bottom?

In the description of the video I mentioned that you land on the bottom plate with both feet, and while standing on the bottom plate you swap the neck weight to your neck then jump off the bottom plate.

Re: Freediving on YouTube

Fondueset I've spotted the fish, and indeed they are very cool swimming next to you, very nice!

I always have great respect for those camramen with steady hands, BTV, and long apnea's to capture some cool images of 'the apneists', in wich case I sometimes wonder who is the greatest, the one being filmed or the camera person...

yes Dude, indeed how does Eric change to the acent position on his CWNF?
Offcause it would be nice to land on the plate with your feed, bent through the knees, grab tag, put arms forward, and push of the plate Just like a pool turn... <- Just read Eric has awserd this question

Great video's keep it comming!

Re: Freediving on YouTube

Its hard for me to give up the camera on some of these dives - but I've got a lot of shots and video of fish and other divers - almost none of me! I'd love to shoot video and stills at a competition sometime. The discipline of moving behind the camera while freediving is very intense and fun. Jason, (dive buddy) does a very good job - he's got some time in doing television work and we're accumulating footage for a DVD.

Re: Freediving on YouTube

Fondue: nice vids and congrats on that no hands business (jealous..)

Here are a couple of my attempts. I secretly hoped for a FIM PB, but a big bowl of pasta 2 hours before, and safetying all morning made sure that didn't happen. Great time though, and Pete (Laminar) is the best person/safety/filmer one could hope to dive with:

and back home, in colder, shallower current filled waters, here is what it looks like down bellow:
