Courses or seminars

I am looking for any courses and/or seminars to help me in the beginning stages of freediving. Although I live in Ohio I would travel. I am mostly interested in the eastern USA and the Caribbean.

Hi Tom,
Contact Anderson he may be able to point you in the right direction. There may be something happening this spring in Miami.

To throw my hat in the ring, these are the places I'm aware of (in no particular order):

1) Performance Freediving
http://www.performancefreediving.com/
They have courses on the West Coast, Florida and Hawaii scheduled

2) Check you local YMCA, they might have an intro course

3) IAFD USA (International Association of Free Divers)
http://www.iafdusa.com/coursdr.htm
They have a couple Constant Ballast Courses coming up

4) Dive Tech in the Cayman Islands
http://www.divetech.com/
They have a long list of courses available. Looks like they are on demand as opposed to scheduled

5) A friend of mine, Trace Malinowski developed and teaches a course for PDIC on the east coast/Pennsylvania area.
http://hometown.aol.com/tracemalin/index.html

Then you have the occasional courses taught by Tanya Streeter, Pipin, Loic LeFerme etc..

Hope this helps. (and I hope I spelled everyone's name correctly)

i might be visiting Trace this summer up in pennsylvania. he's a great guy and has got a good philosophy/style on teaching. give him a shout. should be cheaper than Tanya's and more time in the water.

I have to agree with you Andrsn. Just don't get him started on DIR diving! :-)

What days are you heading down? I'm planning to spend a few weekends diving around that area, I could arrange my schedule to match your's (and Trace's).

July, the perfect month to get wet. Let me know I'm only an eight hour drive away from Pennsylvania :-)
