Re: Static PB's

Diving Dane,

Well done with your 4:37!

The poll was hacked/corrupted a long while ago, someone inserted a lot of 7+ votes...

The real number would likely reflect the Bell curve that has become apparent.
You can check out the International Ranking Lists too. I think it can be found on AIDA International and on Apneamania.com

I see the big 5 comming...
Don't train to hard.

take care , Kars

Re: Static PB's

Thanks for the info that makes alot more sense as far s the 7 min+ thing goes.

Na not going to train to hard just more regularly looking at reaching my goals by the end of the year. so no rush just regular training.

Re: Static PB's

Yay, I hit the 5 min mark yesterday! I'm so stoked about that, although I may need to improve on my exhale (apparently I was close to bust my teeth on the pool edge ...). I've been down there for 5.23 and in the last 20ies there was some weired stuff happening in my head. Funny is, I never recovered this good from any other attempt. This year's goal: Meet the 6!

Re: Static PB's

Don't worry Okamotoa, you're time will gradually grow with practice over time as well.
Just have fun in what you do, be open, learn, explore.

We've all started with 'modest' times.
I started with 1'20" when I'm was 18 years old.
With the right approach, focus on slow relaxation you'll find learning the first few minutes will be easy. After that Co2 is going to get gradually more difficult, but overcomming that is a matter of repetition and good condition.

Have fun and courage,

Kars

That is great. Erik I suppose you have still been doing First Go preparation. Do you know how other "gurus" like Herbert Nitsch, Tom Sietas, etc. prepare? I do believe that no warm up approach make sence! I only have to find how to handle with sooner contractions and to keep fine with contractions . How you can do that?

Re: Static PB's

I forgot to add my PB. On Saturday I did 5:56 on Slovenian Open. I had one 4 min inhale warm up STA, 5 min rest with slightly deeper and slower breathing and go. Contractions came soon so I had to relax and pretend that contractions are nice . At the end I finished fresh, no hypoxia at all.

Wink Re: Static PB's

Hi Folks, just back into freediving again after a 3year layoff! My request would be two-fold: a. How would I go about learning to FRC dive with a maximum of 15m to play with?
b. My static is still around 4minutes - how would I increase that in relation to FRC diving? Any good training drills out there?

Thanks in advance.
P.S. I have been reading the posts lately from this Neshamah ( apologies for mis-spelling ), and I find his tone quite fundamentalist. Being a Belfast boy, now 40 years, I can say that that sort of religious zeal has destroyed communities and families. Please keep this community free from that sort of thing and united in our love of freediving! My two cents!
Mark.

Has this changed since then? I'm assuming yes since all the posts on FRC. I'd love to know!

Re: Static PB's

2:30 PB which I'm really pleased with , since I started about 6 weeks ago with a PB at around 40 seconds which seemed a push at the time.
