I've read alot on this forum now, found out alot in a matter of a few hours, loads of great stuff written in here! I have problems going deeper than 2-2.5 meters, going down close to 3 meter I get this scratchy sound in my ears/head, I've tried the valsalva method, equalizing without applying pressure to the nose while exhaling, but no luck. I got a few tests next week and I will prolly have to go down to 5-6 meters and pick up a few objects, and later on swim atleast 25 meters without fins or kickstart. I'm doing statics like a madman these days, I even got the cold now, could it be caused by a loss of immunedefense again caused my alot of static training?
What about going 5-6 meters without equalizing?

Hi,
do not force equalisation! You can cause sustainable damage to your ears! Do not ignore the pain in your ears and dive deeper! A reason for your problems can be your actual cold. If dont know how to practice equalisation, make a course in scuba-diving. Proper training is essential! Cheers, tanteh low2 |

I think that apnea might reduce the immune system's ability to fight a desease, but I didn't know it causes people to get sick.
It's the fist time I heard about it, and neither me, or any other freediver I PERSONALLY (not from DB) know off had this problem. I don't think that getting sick is an acceptible part of any sport. Check yourself. Get back into full health before starting apnea again. |
