I am going to start to do static walks but I cant seem to find a good table. I am getting mixed instructions from various sites aswell so I am a little confused.
Some places are saying never use it as interval training, while some say to decrease recovery each time. Also, there is not really a distinctive ratio of recovery time to breath hold+walk. Some say recovery should be the same as the breath hold and some say it should be twice the hold. Though I know as a general rule recovery should be twice the breath hold. Could someone help me out with my training table for the walks? My PB static is about 2'30" |

There are no rules in this kind of training. Hold your breath - explore your reactions. Compare your preparations. Change something - compare again.
You will develop. One day do several small ones. One day do one big one. You will train mental endurance. In every long breathold. If you want to approach the limit of O2 - well then ventilate more before a walking apnea. If you want to approach your limit in CO2 - dont ventilate just walk. Very safe breathhold - as opposed to the case with ventilation hypoxemia may occur and you may faint. Your body is your trainer - listen to it. Sebastian Sweden PS... and yes, in water - rest double the time of the dive

I find a starting location(eg: tree, sigh, whatever) then say to myself:I'll walk to that bush, lamp, whatever. **Could i reach my goal? if not, then make your goal closer. once you walk/run your goal three or so times then make it longer. sometimes i take a 30 second break inbetween the holds..sometimes on breath.
normally i do... walk to "the tree"; take two breaths walk back to "the tree" from "the bush"; take two breaths (doing that two more times) and then breath for like 3 mins....then your body has a lot of Oxygen stored up and the next time you start the first one will seem soo much easier. or you could just breath a lot after each walk depending on what you want to train...just some of my examples |
