Static is another topic...
...I do not think that anyone can say that a static can be better without a lot of air. Even though one person with smaller lungs can do a longer static than another with bigger lungs I am absolutely sure that the same person will do better with more air. Not being able to relax with packed lungs is just a matter of training.

CWT diving is another thing since you have to deal with shallow water blackout and narcosis and such.
