| Re: Free Diving Schools Freediving is the correct term apparently. In Greek there is no single word for that. It is called "ελεύθερη κατάδυση", two words. I could have use a dash between the two words though. Free-Diving! Last edited by diveoceanos; August 20th, 2007 at 11:59. |

| Re: Free Diving Schools No thanks Starvos, I don't gamble If they do have scuba instructors unqualified in freediving teaching freediving, no one will take the course therefore the company would fail, oh well. I wouldn't take a course on sky diving from a bungee jumper. But I do not see why anyone would waste their time and money making a new company and not have qualified instructors.

hey there fellow west-coaster, i think i see what you are saying. but "qualified", as in how? what if you qualify yourself, does that count? on the whole, not a black and white issue, rather somewhat of a spectrum; what shade of grey is "self-qualified"? cheers, sean vancouver, canada |

| Re: Free Diving Schools Nikkey - Unfortunately the public are not educated enough to make a good judgement call on freediving qualifications. A local dive shop could easily pass themselves off as a centre of excellence for freediving tuition. I do however applaud your attempt to keep the peace Oceanos - PFI have been running a long term program of Tuition and research in conjunction with a University in Canada, so unfortunately there nothing original in your approach on that front. Perhaps you should contact them and pool resources - pun absolutely intended

| Re: Free Diving Schools For those interested, here is the website that has a striking resemblance in name and logo. Hopefully in posting this it will remove some of the mystery one way or another around this DB member. Okeanos

If you are really interested to know who I am then ask directly. This would have safe you some time. Behind everyone's actions there is a motive, a driving force. I am always trying to understand why everyone behaves like he does, and I am trying to give them credit. Struggling to find out what your objective could possibly be. Is it about caring about other people safety? Is it about fighting against clawn instructors? Do you think we are so stupid to kill people or ignorant to put someone under risk? If you really believe that then speak it out. Do not play Scherlok, uncovering the "big mystery" of who is diveoceanos. In addition I find it unlikely that you have any valid information on who are the members of my team. Highly unlikely! Then you are fighting against something you don't even know? Perhaps this is a reaction, based on your previous experiences. But, alas, do not judge before you have the complete picture. Did I try any personal attack? No. Do you think this is a fare treatment? It is not fair. What's next ADR? What is the next "secret" you are about to uncover? If you ever had the chance to come to Cyprus you would have the chance to get to know us. Then you would have the right to judge who we are and spit on us if you want. I feel this is a waste of my time and energy, but you are engaging in amazingly extreme methods to support your point. |

The individuals in my team are highly respected among the people who know them. Hyperbaric Medicine qualifications, train other people for competitions, 37 years of experience (they can tell you the history of freediving from first hand), two of the members of the team are among the top performers locally. All highly respected individuals in their fields. And believe me they have spent much more hours in the sea than the average. |

| Re: Free Diving Schools Dear Sotos (Diveoceanos), one of the most annoying things you can do in a forum (especially one of a tight community like the freediving community) is to remain anonymous... You come into the DB community stating that you are an expert in this field and that field without stating your name - you state that you have behind you a team of experts and top athletes without stating their names either...(newsflash - almost all freediving experts and top athletes are already members of the DB community and they all put their name under what they say) I am sorry but you are just handling this all wrong and then you are surprised why people do not trust you and are apprehensive towards you... (think about it) Cheers Stavros (Kastrinakis :P ) PS. Sled dive went great - the new setup and liftbag worked like a charm - 1,6m/s decent - 2,5m/s accent... 65m dive in 1:20 (we just stopped as it was getting too dark and cold down there - we dove at 20:30 and the sun was already very low in the sky...what a sight)

| Re: Free Diving Schools Oh what fun! We all know what a small world freediving is and recommendations come from mutual respect and word of mouth.. By now I would suspect that most of the freediving/spearo world will be having a good laugh about this and for all the effort Diveoceanos will go to " Improve " a course that he has no access or real understanding of, it will prove fruitless. No custom no point. No one with any sense will attend... Would you go to a party run by nuns? Thats the no sex/booze religious kind of nun by the way.. On the other hand his bunch of merry men may have a moment of clarity and discover an aspect of human physiology that revolutionizes the way we live and allow us all to follow the sperm whales.. Just my sarcastic, opinionated, arrogant 2 cents. |
