That is what I was thinking - it is probably safe if done properly, but it may be difficult to know at what point it starts to become dangerous. It is probably different from apnea, because most apnea training does not produce hypoxia for extended periods of time.

Doesnt your body recuperate during sleep, and would need maximum oxygen benefit for reparation of cells, etc? I think we have had a high altitude training discussion before on the forum but I cant remember the outcome.
